Had to have been widow to Francis as other 2 sons were alive and separately mentioned in his will. Also, source notes that an estate accounting in 1787 was filed by 'Sarah Stafford (formerly Newbold)' as the surviving executor of the estate of Francis Newbold, deceased. [S148] . Date of Import: Aug 1, 2000 [S193] . Date of Import: Sep 5, 2003 [S194] 56. Source quotes from "History of Delaware" by by J. Thomas Sharf, that "....land called 'Fruitful Plain'...on March 19, 1777, Charles Polk purchased if of Isaac Layfield. He also purchased 170 acres of it from Sarah Newbold on January 26, 1793." It is likely, then, that Sarah Newbold Owens is alive as of this date.
