    • Born Johann Georg Leonhard, her father came from Horn Hunscrueck, Kreis Simmern, Westphalia, Germany. During the Revolutionary War, he served as a private in the 3rd PA Pattalion, 5th Co., York Co., under Capt. Gould. He moved his family from Dover Township, York Co., PA to Newberry Township, then to Monaghan Township, and finally to Somerset County by 1784. He located the family farm on Cox's Creek and Middle Creek in Milford Township. George's estate record was filed on September 24, 1797.
